Holding Hands

Christine and I have known each other for about eight years. Our friendship has endured all these years even though we are miles away from each other and I'm sure we'll be friends for a long time.
It is hard to believe that now we are both moms!
On our way back home from Boston, Carter and Emma were holding hands while sitting in their car seats.
At first Emma didn't know what was going on:
Then she felt more comfortable holding Carter's hand:
At the end Emma didn't want to let go:

First Trip to Boston

Our friends from "northern" Virginia came to visit us for a long weekend. We tried to show them all of the historical places around town and in Boston. We had a great time in such a short visit and my parents were delighted to see them again. My parents did most of the cooking and everyone really enjoyed the Mexican food.

Here are pictures of our trip to Boston. Emma and Carter behaved really well despite their routines being altered. This was Emma's first trip to Boston.

We had lunch in a restaurant next to the harbor. We like going there because it is a nice setting, not too crowded, good service and great food. They serve our favorite clam chowder.

Eating with a Spoon

Emma officially started eating food with a spoon last night. She had oatmeal and judging her reaction, I believe she enjoyed it. She kept opening her mouth when I was feeding her. Her pediatrician was right, we had to have the camera ready because she was going to wear her food!

More Pictures with Abuelos

Yeserday we went to the Old North Bridge and to the Minute Man National Historic Park. Since Emma loves being outside, she really enjoyed our day yesterday. She's also doing great with her daily naps (I'm trying to keep her on her daily routine) and she was exhausted when it was time to go to bed for the night.
I forgot Emma's sun hat when we went to the Old North Bridge, so my dad let her borrow his baseball hat:
Here we are at the Minute Man National Historic Park and this time I remembered to bring her sun hat (gift from Grammy Douglas): Grammy Douglas gave Emma this cute outfit:

At the Library

We walked around town and ended up going to the library. My parents are enjoying every moment with Emma and it is great having the extra help around the house.

Spoiled by Abuelos

We are enjoying my parents' visit. It is great having that extra help around the house and with Emma and Atenas. Atenas has been sleeping with my parents; she's loving all the extra attention and the treats that he gets from the dinner table (thanks to my dad).
Emma has been going on walks with her abuela every day and she's really enjoying having them around. It is fun seeing my parents making her laugh.

As soon as Emma woke up from her nap, we took this picture (that explains Emma's expression):

My parents brought a whole suitcase full of goodies from Mexico! Here's Emma eating one of my cookies (given by her abuela). I better put them away before she eats them all!

Six Months

Happy SIX months Emma Carolina!

A big kiss from Daddy:
Emma's grandparents from Juarez arrived last night. This is the first time they've met in person (we've done video calls with them before) and it seems that Emma has known them for a long time.

At the Pier

Before leaving Grand Haven we took family pictures at the pier. It was very windy and a little cold. We managed to take pictures in record time.
