Story Time at the Garden

Yesterday we went to Story Time at a garden near our home where Emma met her friend. After listening to stories and games for thirty minutes, the girls were ready to explore the garden, smell the flowers, and look for fish in the pond.

If you've met Emma, you would know that this is her "stinker" laugh. Too cute, don't you think?

Emma - Play Date & Pig Tails

Emma had a play date today and she surprised me by asking me to put her hair in pig tails.  Shocking, I know! She brought me two hair rubber bands when we were getting ready and suprisingly she left the pig tails on until it was time for her nap (I actually took them off).  Emma also wore her pink bracelet and her rainbow bracelet on her ankle.  I have no idea where she got that idea from since I've never worn one on my ankle.

Emma - Watermelon

Emma was "helping" me cut a watermelon this morning but she decided that eating it would be more fun.
Talk about "mouth watering"!:

Ana - Tummy Time

I just love the expression of Ana's eyes.  A lot of people comment on her cheeks; you just want to pinch them (Emma pinches them quite often).

Emma - Eating a Fresh Carrot

Last Sunday we picked our first baby carrots.  Emma didn't waste any time and she tried one immediately after her Dad rinsed it off.

By the look in her face, I think she likes it:

During Thunderstorms

We don't have to look at the weather report to know that there is a storm coming.  All we have to do is watch Atenas; she starts acting different.

Emma in Isabelle's Shorts

Isabelle left a pair of shorts and a hat behind for Emma.  Of course Emma was delighted to wear anything that belonged to her cousin.  Isabelle is 11 and Emma is 2, but the size in clothing didn't stop Emma from wearing Isabelle's clothes.  I had to put a couple of safty pins in the shorts so that they wouldn't fall down but for a few minutes Emma was wearing them without the safety pins and they were just a little bit too big.  The hat fits just about right; what can I say, our girls have big heads just like their mom.

Here's Emma with her Grandpa wearing Isabelle's shorts and hat:

Emma wouldn't stand up so that I could take a good picture of her in Isabelle's shorts.  But here she is with Atenas:

High School Band Concert

Last night we went to see a concert performed by the local high school band.  The concert was so much fun and both girls really enjoyed it.  Emma was imitating the hand movement of the field commander and she was dancing to the music.  She's been talking about the "music" even today.

Family Visit from Italy

Last month we had Matt and his family visit us from Italy.  Matt serves in the Air Force and he is stationed in Italy.  The last time we saw Matt, Jenny and the kids was back in November 2009 (before we had the girls). We had a wonderful time with them and we are so happy that Emma finally got to spend some time with her cousins.

The first day they were here we had a cookout at our house.  It was a great success and Matt got to enjoy some authentic Mexican food.

Ana - Four Months

Ana turned four months last Thursday August 2nd.  She is in great health and growing like a weed.  Ana is a tiny bit smaller and lighter than Emma was at four months but it seems she is doing things a lot faster than her older sister.

She laughs, giggles, talks, likes to suck on her fist, hands, fingers or anything that is close to her and she adores Emma.  She goes to bed early and wakes up eight hours later to eat and goes back to sleep.  People told us that the second kid was always a lot easier and they were right.  Ana is such an easy going baby and we love her so much!
