Is it spring yet?

I'm not complaining about the weather. Living in Ohio has taught me to expect drastic changes in temperatures within a few days. The weather here is GREAT compared to Massachusetts (where we lived for over two years). Anyway, it was 53℉ today and Ana decided to change her outfit to a skort and shirt sleeves. This kid is too much!

New Mexican Dance Blouses

I finally finished sewing two Mexican dance blouses for Emma and her friend Madeline. It was a fun project and I can't wait to see them in the next performance.

Titus - more pictures

Took some pictures of Titus with the big camera...my heart melts.

Titus

Our dear friends Dan & Allison welcomed their first child last Friday February 16. Titus Bonham Edmond's was way overdue (close to 44 weeks, per Allison's dates).

Emma met him yesterday and Ana got go meet him today. He's perfect and we already fell in love with his cuteness.

Drawing: Betsy Ross

I'm not biased, but Emma's drawing of Betsy Ross is a masterpiece! The detail is pretty good for a seven year old. Look at the cat behind Betsy. And the gold trim around the chair. And the weave on the basket. This is definitely a keeper!

Emma as Betsy Ross

All of the second graders in Emma's school picked a historical figure to research, dress up like them zinc be part of a "wax museum".

Emma picked Betsy Ross. We got her a thirteen Star American flag, made her a bonnet and wore Mexican dance skirt and she was all set. After posing at the "wax museum", all the parents headed to the classrooms to listen to the kids give a speech about the historical figure they were representing.

Birthday Celebration

We took a day trip down to Portsmouth, OH and went to Shawnee State University to watch women's basketball game.  We met aunt Mary at the stadium.  After the game we enjoyed a nice dinner then headed to aunt Mary's house for birthday cake in celebration of John's 68th birthday that's coming up.

We had a great time.

Valentine's Day Dessert

For our special Valentine's Day treat, we had a healthy version of Mexican fried ice-cream. Served it on my grandma's bowls. Oh so good!

Dinner: Tacos de Birria

It makes me so happy to see the girls enjoying tacos de birria. This is my grandfather's specialty dish known by thousands due to the family restaurants throughout some cities in Mexico.

School is Closed - Snow Day

Rarely our school district closes due to snow. Yesterday was the second school closing this school year. Gotta love winter!

Ana the Helper

Attic Renovation

We are resuming work in our attic. Today we removed all the original old floor planks (almost 70 years old) and replaced them with 3/4" OSB subfloor. The longest plank was 1" X 12" X probably 12'. We are saving all the planks at a friend's barn and hopefully Cameron can build something nice.

We found an old Ohio sales tax stamp under one of the planks. Pretty cool.
