Ana - Crawling

Ana officially started crawling this week. She's also pulling up on furniture and people.

The Christmas tree is a great temptation for Ana and I often find myself  trying to keep her away from it.

Christmas Eve 2012

This year our family hosted the Christmas Eve dinner. We had so much fun and we really kept things simple this year.

Ana - Red Bow

This morning I tried one of Emma's clip on bows on Ana and the bow stayed on for a long time!

Ana - Snow White

Ana joined her sister in playing dress up. She makes a cute Snow White.

Playing with the trains

I never thought trains sets would be something that Emma would be interested in playing. I was wrong. Emma and her little friend LOVE playing with the trains and especially the little people. Today the girls helped the mommies build the track before we took all the trains out. If you look closer, the girls were also playing dress-up: Emma is Belle and Hannah is Snow White.

I had a hard time trying to keep Ana from grabbing the tracks. She finally settled down and was playing with a couple of train cars.

In Ana's Crib

The girls were having fun this morning goofing around in Ana's crib. It kept them entertained while I was folding laundry. Don't worry, I was in the room with them and I made sure Emma wasn't rough with Ana.

Walking

Emma looked so cute walking Atenas that I had to snap a picture.

Gum drop Christmas Tree

Emma made this gum drop Christmas tree at her friend's house. The girls also had fun "baking" Cinderella cookies, playing dolls, and dancing to Christmas music. It is so good to see Emma interacting with her friend and learning to share and take turns.

Ana - hair bow

I found three long hairs that are long enough for a bow! (Not literally). Maybe there is hope and I'll be able to start Ana early with hair bows.

Girls & Christmas Tree

We set up our Christmas tree the Sunday before Thanksgiving.  This year Emma has really enjoyed looking at all of our decorations and surprisingly we haven't had any broken ornaments.

Do you know how many shots it took to get both girls smiling and looking somewhat decent? Too many! I had lots of shots of them goofying around, Emma picking her nose, dancing, singing and others of Ana crying, eating her sleeves and playing with Emma.  Cameron did an excellent job trying to make the girls smile and of course it took some bribing to get Emma to smile and remain seated.

I needed a nice picture of the girls in front of the Christmas tree for our Christmas card and here it is!

Girls at the park

We have to take advantage of the few days if warm weather and what better way to do it than by going to the park!

Emma at the library

Recognize Emma? She's the one with the duck mask. This is her first official role in a play. It doesn't matter that it only lasted a few minutes while Mrs. G (the librarian) read the story of The Little Red Hen. She did an excellent job for wanting to participate and I'm so proud of her!

Baking sugar cookies with Grammy

Emma loves being involved in the kitchen and helping out in anything she can. It can be doing dishes, cracking her own egg, making pizzas, and lately anything that is related to baking.  Last Wednesday Grammy Douglas (or Mei Mei - Emma's nickname for Grammy) came over for a visit and they baked cookies. I got to run errands while they baked the cookies and when I got home the kitchen was clean and there was a delicious batch of sugar cookies waiting to be eaten. I wish I would've taken a picture of the sugar cookies; Emma did a great job frosting and putting sprinkles on them (you'll just have to take my word for it).

Ana - Eight Months

Ana is officially eight months old (plus one week). Last thursday we felt her first bottom tooth!
Good-bye gummy smiles. She is anxious to be mobile. She's still not crawling (which I'm grateful for) but she can move around pretty good by going from belly to sitting and rolling around.

Just the Two of Us

I can't even remember the last time we took a picture of just the two of us.What you don't see, is two little stinkers sitting by our feet - one clinging to my legs and the other one sitting on Cameron's feet (I purposely left them out of the picture).

Emma - Learning to ride her tricycle

This morning as I was putting the trash out, Emma joined me and took her tricycle out from the garage.  She got on it, asked for some help (a little push) and then she started pedaling all by herself.  It took a couple of tries to figure out exactly how to pedal but once she started pushing those legs, she didn't stop. She was so proud of herself and so was I. We are going to have to show Daddy once he gets home from work.

After going up and down our driveway, she took a break to climb our tree and run all over our yard.  Emma has loved the outdoors since she was a newborn.  Our little stinker is growing up so fast!

Emma - First Haircut

Neither of our babies inherited my thick Mexican hair.  As you know they were both born almost bald and it has taken Emma a long time to grow her hair.  Last Wednesday October 31st, Emma had her first haircut and she did great! I think it helped that she saw me get my hair trimmed and that she knew the lady who cut it.  I kept her curls and I will put them in her baby book.

Pictures at the Park

After four rainny days, we finally got a break in the weather and we went out to a local park to take some pictures.  It was 50 degrees but it was windy and therefore it felt a lot colder.  I was surprised that Emma requested her coat (that rarely happens).
