Halloween 2018

Ana's friends came over for dinner and to get ready to go Trick or Treating. Emma's friends couldn't make it but she was a good sport. It seems like we visited less houses but somehow we ended up with two buckets overflowing with candy. The girls had a lot of fun.

Century Bar

Cameron and I finally made it to the Century Bar in downtown Dayton. The bar is known for its bourbon the also have an extensive amount of other spirits.

We tried the Henry McKenna 10 year bonded whiskey. It was delicious. We might have to get ourselves a bottle.

Orgullo Mexicano did a great job performing during the Operation Smile event at Jungle Jim's. The girls loved the fancy venue and dressing up for the occasion.

Climbing Trees

Climbing trees never gets old. Emma Ana Ana had friends over and they wanted to go to "the park" close to our house. It's fun seeing a bunch of girls just enjoying nature without any electronics.

Croatian Dinner with Friends

Last night we went over to some friends house and cooked a Croatian Dinner. It was Emily's first attempt to make Croatian food and she said her mother-in-law would approve the results.

We made bread, soup, grilled fish, baked octopus and chocolate cake. Everything was delicious and we had a great time. Next time we'll plan on cooking Mexican food at our place.

First Sleep Friend

Last Saturday the girls had their friend Shealyn over for a sleepover. Cameron was gone 9n his camping & biking trip so it was all girls at our house. It was like having three perfect daughters. They played with their dolls for hours! They made their own pizzas (homemade dough) and enjoyed a good movie.

The girls got a gingerbread house kit from a neighbor and they decided to make it with Shealyn. That kept them busy in the morning while I made them cinnamon rolls for breakfast.

We all had a great time.

Place Project

I had the opportunity to join Emma's classroom on their Place Project outing. We walked to a nearby stream and the kids looked around, wrote in their journals and investigated little things. We'll go back next month to the same spit and look at the changes in nature.

Cameron's Birthday - BIG 4-0

We celebrated  Cameron's 40th  birthday a week early. We originally were going to go out to dinner but decided to order BBQ takeout instead. We ordered the cake from DLM; Cameron wanted lemon cake and it was delicious.

Thanks to John and Nancy for making Cameron's birthday a great day.
