Abuelos are Here!

The girls have been counting down god days to see their Abuelos that are visiting from Mexico. The girls helped unload the truck and they were pleasantly surprised to see two huge piñatas for their birthday parties next year. They brought our favorite food and candy. This is awesome!

Nutcracker

We went to see the Nutcracker ballet last Sunday and the performance was perfect. Both girls enjoyed the show. This was Ana's first time that she had seen if live and she did really well following the story, mimicking the ballerinas and occasionally sitting still.

Gingerbread Houses at our Library

Once again the girls got to build gingerbread houses at our local library. It is fun seeing their creativity, not only in their craft but also in his to sneak eating a candy or two.

Sugar Plum Fairy & The Land of Sweets

Last Sunday the girls and I went to see the Sugar Plumb Fairy at a local ballet dance studio. They hosted around eighty girls to hot chocolate, crafts, pictures and a small performance with the characters from The Nutcracker.

The best part (according to the girls) was seeing the ballerinas performance. At the end all the little girls were invited to dance with the Sugar Plum Fairy. That was a perfect ending to this event. Now we are ready for Sunday, when we go see the real Nutcracker performance.

Sleeping with "lipstick" on

Emma and Ana spent hours playing by themselves. At the end Ana showed us her lips...she put "lipstick" on which ended up being marker. This girl!

Morning Snuggles

Weekend morning snuggles with dad are a must.

Setting up our Christmas Light

Emma and Ana got involved in setting up the Christmas lights on our Magnolia tree in front of our house. I'll have to take another picture of the finished product. We had to rush at the end because it started sprinkling. The girls requested hot chocolate. I happily agreed!

Loving my Mug

Aunt Jan gave me this mug for my last birthday. It holds the perfect amount of bulletproof coffee. Delicious!

My version of bulletproof coffee:
1 c coffee
1 Tbs coconut oil
1 Tbs grass fed butter
1 squirt of coconut/almond blend milk (I prefer Blue Diamond, original, unsweetened)
Dash of cinnamon

Put everything in blender except cinnamon to make it nice and foamy and finish with dash of cinnamon.

That's how I've been starting my day for the past several months. And it is the perfect way to start this Thanksgiving Day.

Ana's Turkey Outfit

On Friday Ana has her Thanksgiving party at preschool. It was the perfect occasion for her to wear her turkey outfit. She looked pretty cute!

Emma's Thanksgiving Luncheon

Every year first graders get to have a Thanksgiving luncheon and have the parents as guests of honor. Each family had to provide a dish. Everything was well organized and delicious.

Emma was so proud showing me around her classroom, her school and playground. It is fun to see Emma in a completely different environment where we (the parents) are not around.

New Christmas Dresses

Christmas is over a month away but the girls wanted to wear their new dresses to church today. I'm all for that. Might as well get a lot of use out of them.

Please disregard Ana's wild socks. Ha!

Preschool Project

Ana was so proud of her Thanksgiving project at preschool. We think she did a good job. Then Emma told her "you forgot to draw the nipples on the Indian." Ha! These kids!

Emma's Election Poll

Emma, our first grader and six year old, conducted her own election poll based on the number of signs she saw out on the streets. She kept count on her own. We didn't ask her to do it. She came home and drew the results. Ha!

A six year old got it right and the media and the political polls got it wrong. Now we move on.

First Presidential Election

It was my first time voting during a presidential election. Our duty as citizens is done. Now we pray that the president we elect will be the right one for our country.

Ana's Sandwich

Ana is a little particular about her food. She prefers eating sandwich ingredients separate than all together in a sandwich. Crazy girl.

Pictures & Ice Cream

Once again we are enjoying beautiful fall weather so we took the opportunity to take some family pictures. The girls were a good sport about it. The nice portraits are on my big camera. These were just taken with my phone.

After the photo session we rode our bikes to Dairy Queen for some ice cream. A good reward for the entire family.

Friday Night UNO

The girls wanted to play cards after dinner. We decided to play UNO since it is a good way to review colors, number and some letters with Ana. We thought it will be a fast game. We were wrong. One game took about 45 minutes! We had a lot of fun playing with our girls. Can't believe they are old enough to play cards with them!

Fall & Bike Ride

Ana is getting so much confident at riding her bike. She'll take every opportunity to ride it, no matter how long or short the ride is. And of course we are loving this beautiful fall weather! Shorts, short sleeves, and crocs in November! Wow!

Halloween

We were "Catrinas" for Halloween. The girls had their buckets overflowing by the time we were done. Mission accomplished.
