Ana - Backflip in Diving Board

Ana can easily do a backflip on the ground, trampoline, and now off the diving board.

Daisies in Full Bloom

The daisies in our front flower bed are in full bloom. When we first moved in two years ago they were black, as if they were sprayed with a chemical and burned. Now two years later I say they have recovered and they are beautiful.

YMCA National Gymnastics Competition | Opening Ceremony

We were fortunate that this year’s nationals YMCA, gymnastics competition was in Cincinnati; it was only 45 minutes away from our house. The opening ceremony is always a fun experience. The ceremony starts with a parade of all the teams from around the country. We get to cheer them as they make their entrance to the big arena. This year’s guest speaker was gold Olympian Shannon Miller.

On our way home, we stopped by Kings Island for dinner. Ana and Cameron rode the Drop Tower while Emma and I just watched.

Family Cookout

Last Friday we had a family cookout. Aunt Mary and uncle Ed joined us from Portsmouth. We had a great time. Ed was full of dad jokes and kept us all laughing. Tess was a sweet dog and getting lots of love from all of us including a couple of pets from aunt Mary. The girls showed the family their Silks and Jenny did a great job climbing them.

Kings Island With Family

One of the things we had planned for Matt and Jenny’s visit was a trip to Kings Island. We had a great time and perfect weather.

Annual visit to the Cincinnati Zoo

Every time that Isabelle comes for a visit the girls want to go to the zoo with her. We had our annual visit last Tuesday and it was a lot of fun. We got to meet Fritz, the new baby hippo. At the end of the visit, Meimei bought all three granddaughters a stuffed animal. She wanted to continue with the tradition.

Meet “Douglas”

Fiona Rose has been broody for a few weeks so we decided to take some fertilized black copper Maran eggs from the Bonhams (five in total) and place them under Fiona Rose so they can hatch. Yesterday we noticed one started hatching. Based on its wings, we determined that our chick is a male. We named him Douglas. We are hoping the other four eggs are females. We shall wait and see.

Ana made a name bracket for the rest of the chicks. Under the boys names, there’s one she named NoHenny. Lol
