Abuelos have Arrived!

My parents have arrived and they brought a truck full of FOOD! It is great having them and the girls are already having a blast playing with their uncle Job.

Severe Thunderstorm

It poured like I've never seen it rain before. The wind was blowing like crazy and as a result, many branches and trees fell in our neighborhood. Just down the street our neighbors' windshield was smashed by a branch and up the street a tree fell on a house (not much damage, thankfully).

We lost power and it is still raining. Our electric company has reported over 11,500 household outages! Good thing we are all safe and have a roof to protect us.

What's for Breakfast?

The girls wanted smoked trout for breakfast this morning! They eat this stuff like candy! Good for them, right?

Visit to the Dentist

Emma did great on her visit to the dentist. She was so excited to get a new butterfly toothbrush.

Waiting

We were waiting outside of  Cameron's office and the girls did a god job entertaining themselves in the car. They played with the seatbelts and pretended to drive. If left alone, they could spend hours doing this.

At the Library

Ana enjoys going to our library and "reading" books. I have to keep an eye on her because she often grabs a book from the shelf and tries to reshelve it on her own and misplacing it. We love our library!

Swimming with the Big Kids

Emma started swimming with the big kids last week. She's only four but she's keeping up with them. We are SO proud of her, she's doing a great job in learning new techniques.

It FINALLY Happened!

Ana is officially potty trained since last week! We had been working with her for a while but we couldn't force her and she wasn't interested. She refused to sit on the potty. Bribes (chocolate, candy, popsicles, you name it) didn't work. Then Monday of last week it clicked. She woke up with a not so wet diaper and I encouraged her to sit on the potty and it was a success. She stayed dry all morning until nap time. The following day she didn't want to wear diapers anymore and I was nervous because we couldn't stay home to deal with any accidents. Everything went fine and she's now wearing big girl panties!

Birthday and Father's Day Celebration

Yesterday for the first time in a LONG time we had our entire family together.  We are grateful that Matt, Jenny, Aaron and Isabelle are back in the United States after serving five years in Europe with the Air Force.

We planned a birthday party to celebrate Isabelle's 13th birthday and it was so much fun! Her favorite color is purple, same as Emma's, therefore it was easy to come up with the decorations.

Emma and Isabelle:

Here's Ana and aunt Mary talking to each other in their cell phones.  I think they spent about half an hour playing inside aunt Mary's car.  Notice that Ana is in the driver's seat.  Goofball!

 Birthday Girl!

All the guys: John, Cameron, Matt, Aaron, cousin Evan, and uncle Ed.

Our sweet Emma:

The ladies: friend Holly, Jenny, aunt Jan, Nancy, aunt Mary, Ana, me, cousin Erika, (front) Emma, Isabelle and Atenas.

Me and Hubby:

Love this picture, Ana reached over to hug Mei Mei (Nancy) and wouldn't let go!

Our first Strawberries

Emma cut our first strawberries of the season from our garden. She gets so excited when they start turning red!

Swimming

Last Sunday we went swimming to Dr. Allison's parents' house. We've known Dr. Allison and her husband, Dr. Dan, for about a year.  They are our friends and chiropractors.  The girls love them and they often babysit for us.

We spent most of our Sunday afternoon enjoying the pool and the beautiful surroundings.  The girls loved being tossed in the water by Dr. Dan and they also got a good kick from seeing the dogs jumping in and swimming in the pool. Emma was like a fish in the water.  We are so glad she can swim and be safe in the pool.  Ana was wearing a life jacket but that didn't stop her from clinging to everyone who would take her. We had a great time!

Dr. Dan tossing the girls high in the water:

Here's Dr. Allison feeding the dogs leftover smoked turkey.  Atenas was not left out.  She's standing up and begging for her share (far right):

The girls were exhausted by the time we got in the truck.

Milking a Cow

The girls didn't get to milk a real cow but they had so much fun milking this cow.
