Memorial Day

Yesterday our pastor mentioned that Memorial Day is the third most important holiday in the United States after Christmas and Easter. Why not the Fourth of July? Because without Memorial Day there wouldn't be a Fourth of July.

Here are some pictures of our girls wearing their patriotic colors.  Daddy had to bribe Emma with chocolate so that she could leave her bow on.  Unfortunately you can see the chocolate in some of the pictures where she's smiling and showing her teeth.

Too cute!

Grammy's Flowers

For the past few years on Mother's Day, Cameron has been planting Nancy's flower boxes. This year Cameron had an extra helper: Emma. She was in charge of watering the flowers and for some reason she got more water on her outfit than in the flower boxes. Good thing that I was prepared with extra set of clothes.

Here's Emma all ready to get started (cute blouse courtesy of her tio Jorge):

7 Weeks | Sleeping and Awake

We can just stare at Ana forever while she is sleeping and never get tired of it. There's something fascinating about sleeping babies, better yet when they are your own.

Ana is waking up once to nurse in the middle of the night.  Between nursing, changing diapers, and going back to sleep, this process takes about one hour.  I'm definitely getting more sleep now than when Ana was in the womb.

Ana's curly toes are too cute!

Is that a smile?

Here's Ana "cheering":

Girly Girl

There is hope for Emma to be a girly girl! She loves her new bracelet and sunglasses.  Also notice that in this picture she is wearing a pink bow in her hair but of course she took it off once she realized she had it on.

Pink Headband

I promised that I would start Ana on headbands at an early age.  Here she is with her new headband that Grammy got her.

The camera's flash scared Ana:

Sleeping during Tummy Time

Ana really enjoys sleeping on Daddy's chest.

Look at Ana's mouth, it is priceless!

Bouncer

Cameron was working on a project in the basement and Emma was "helping" him.  It didn't take long before Emma spotted her old bouncer and wanted Daddy to set it up for her baby doll.  Well, it didn't take long before Emma wanted to get back in the bouncer.  She's such a goofball!

At the Zoo

Today we spent the day at the zoo and it was a lot of fun watching Emma enjoy all the different animals.  Emma walked most of the time and sometimes Cameron had to hold her so she could get a better look at the animals. Ana on the other hand, slept pretty much all the time and missed seeing the animals (but that's expected for a five week old baby!).

**Sorry, there aren't any pictures of Ana since she was just sleeping in the stroller.

Our first stop was the elephants.

The proud peacock showing its  beautiful feathers:

Emma was roaring as she saw the "King of the Jungle".

Our trip to the zoo couldn't be complete without ice cream!

Head bands

Sometimes Emma is interested in wearing a head band for just a few seconds.  I persuaded her to go outside and let me take a few pictures of her wearing her pink head band; however I couldn't get a smile out of her (little stinker!).

This is the first time she wore this outfit; notice that she's wearing a skirt and of course holding her "mower" which is very ladylike.

It took a few seconds before Emma decided she had enough of the head band and wanted to take it off:

Here she is goofying around with her baby stroller and another head band:

And here's Ana with her head band; she couldn't be left behind:
