First Camping Trip

We went to Cowan Lake State Park for our first camping trip with the girls. We rented a camper and brought our little sail boat. Our friends Dan and Allison joined us. As soon as we pulled into the camp site, Cameron's breaks went out. We ended up towing the truck back to the mechanic.

Despite our rough start, we had a great time. The girls loved hunting for firewood and roasting marshmallows on the fire. We had steaks for dinner and mountain pies and omelets for breakfast. Cooking on an open fire was so much fun!

We took the sail boat out for the first time.  We witnessed a sail boat competition. I think Cameron did a great job sailing.

This will be a great trip to remember.

Little Bakers

The girls helped me bake chocolate chip cookies for their play date.

Tangled Comb Mess

Last Thursday we were getting ready for the day. Emma was going to school and Ana was going to the Y for her swimming & gymnastics classes. I asked the girls to brush their hair while they were having breakfast. Emma grabbed the hair brush. Ana was impatient and didn't wait for her sister to be done with the brush and grabbed the comb. Few seconds later the comb was extremely tangled in Ana's hair. I was surprised. I was angry. I decided to take a picture because I knew I was going to be laughing...eventually.

I didn't know what to do. The comb wouldn't budge. I texted the picture to Cameron, who was at work, and he replied "LOL". I wasn't laughing. He suggested to cut the comb with some shears. I didn't want to cut Ana's hair off so I cut the comb in little pieces while untangling the hair with another comb.

I was running kit of time. I had to get Emma to school. I called our neighbor and asked her to watch Ana as I took Emma to school. I couldn't take Ana out in public with that big mess in her hair!  As we were driving to school, Emma said "this is fun, just you and me." Now that alone made my morning!

It took lots of conditioner and coconut oil to get rid of the big knot on Ana's hair. I think we were both relieved by the time it was all over. Now I can laugh about it!

Four Year Patio

We got free pavers over four years ago. They've been sitting next to our patio ever since until today! Finally we got this paper project going. It was a family job and the girls really enjoyed helping out. It's not finished yet, but after three hours of labor, I say we are in good shape. Hopefully it won't take another four years to complete it. Ha!

Sunday's Lunch

The girls are finally at a good age that they can behave civilized at a nice restaurant. Ha! They did a good job handling their chopsticks.

Caesar's Creek & Marina

Yesterday we went over to Caesar's Creek to check out the lake and it's new Marina. The girls had a lot if fun exploring.

Interesting Conversation Between Sisters

The conversations between Emma and Ana are never dull. These kids come up with the silliest things!

Emma to Ana: "Ana, do you want to smell my pits?"
Ana: "No thanks. They smell like Babe's (Cameron's)."

Cameron to Ana during Bible lesson: "Ana, does that makes sense?"
Ana: "No, only Emma knows what makes sense."
