Emma's New Toy

Progress - Week 2

It has been a lot of fun picking out things for our house. Last week we ordered the countertops and some cabinets for our kitchen. This week we bought the kitchen sink, the bathroom vanity, faucets for the kitchen and the bathroom, and bathroom accessories. Our appliances should be delivered by next weekend and Cameron already scheduled the movers for next Saturday morning. Lots of things left to do but we are in good shape!

We went to the house today and I took some pictures of the progress.

Progress: The pink tile and the vanity have been demolished. The tile will be replaced with beaded plank paneling.

Pantry Thief

My parents sent us a box full of Mexican goodies and one of the treats was Mazapanes (peanut cumbly candy). Well apparently Emma likes them and I caught her stealing some from the pantry and eating them.

Progress - Week 1

This week has gone by and so much has happened in our house. The electric system has been upgraded, the HVAC system is all new, the plaster is being repaired, the kitchen countertops, back splash and sink are gone and we still have a lot of work to do.

We hope to move-in in two weeks. We are being optimistic but we hope we can meet our deadline. Here are a few pictures of the progress:

Sweat Equity

We started working on our house this past weekend. The tree is in process of coming down (the crew had to stop because it was lightning and raining), all the bushes are out and the electrician is almost done updating the electric system. Yesterday Cameron and I removed the carpet while Emma stayed with Grammy Douglas.

Here are some before and after pictures.

Notice the old carpet, you can see where the furniture used to be. Here's Cameron calling contractors to get quotes on the different jobs.

Official Homeowners!

Today at 12:15 we became official homeowners! Our house needs major renovations and upgrades but I'm sure they will go smoothly as cameron seems to have everything under control. The work will start tomorrow and the first things is that we are cutting down that huge tree in our backyard. We are really excited and can't wait to move in!

Strawberry Picking + Eating

This morning Emma, aunt Jan and I went strawberry picking. We were there early in the morning to avoid the hot sun and it was perfect timing.

Our little goofball decided to eat some strawberries after all the hard work of picking them up:

Hopefully we can continue doing this every year.

Helping Gramp

Last Sunday Cameron helped Gramp with different chores around his house. Emma and I just got to watch and run around Gramp's yard while they were busy getting things done.

Strawberry Festival

Last Saturday we went with some friends to a Strawberry Festival; this was my first time in an event such as this and it was quite an experience. There was tons of food, lots of strawberry dishes, music, games, and much more.

One of the signature dishes was strawberry donuts. There was a long line to get these hot donuts but at the end it was worth it.

It was a very hot day but that didn't stop Emma from taking a nap:
