Summer Clothes in the Middle of Winter

When Emma was born, auntie Jenny gave her niece a complete wardrobe with very cute outfits in all different sizes. Since warm, hot days are still far away, Emma won't be able to wear some of her summer clothes because she will outgrow them soon. Yesterday Emma and I had fun playing dress-up and of course I had to take pictures! This is the only way Emma can wear summer clothes in the middle of winter.

Trip to the Library

When playgrounds are buried under at least one foot of snow, the library is a great place for Emma to interact with other kids her age. We love our library; they have a great variety of books and they have a huge children's collection.

Emma tries to decide which book she wants to read/eat:

Emma thinks she can act like a big and independent girl:
What's with that tongue?
We hope she develops a love for reading and not just goofing around at the library:

Weirdest Thing Ever

Emma has a new tooth and when I showed the picture to Grammy Douglas she said "that is the weirdest thing that I've ever seen!" I'm glad I took lots of "gummy" smiles because those days are over.

Bean Lover

Emma loves to eat beans. There's no doubt that she's part Mexican!

She might also be a "bean counter" one day (just like her mom):

What are your thoughts?

There are times when Emma gets so serious just for a few seconds that we wonder what are her thoughts.
Look at Emma's face while Daddy was getting her ready for the day:
Maybe she's asking herself why is Daddy doing Mommy's job:
Maybe she's examining the buttons and deciding that they are good chewing items:
So we ask you Emma, what are your thoughts?

Owl Face

This is Emma's new owl face:

How much wood...

How much wood...
could a woodchuck chuck...
If a woodchuck could chuck wood?

New Winter Hat

Cameron got a new Carhartt winter hat for Christmas. He's been using it every day at the job site. Look who's also wearing it:

The Love for Books

Emma can spend a significant amout of time playing with books (notice that I didn't say HER books). We spend time reading every day and she really enjoys it. Sometimes we read a few pages of one book when she decides she wants to read another book. I hope she grows up to be a great reader and lover of books, but for now I can manage by her being greatly entertained by them.

**Lulu (from Beta), I hope you enjoy these pictures**

Emma seems to be drawn to my Accounting books!

Scared by the vacuum cleaner

I was using the vacuum cleaner while Emma was playing and all of the sudden she started crying. I don't know if she got scared by the loud noise or by Atenas who was barking at the vacuum cleaner.
Poor Emma, she had a pitiful face and I tried to capture it with a picture. Notice the way she's sitting; Cameron used to sit like this when he was a baby.

Emma's Boots

She wears them, she eats them and she sniffs them...if only her Grammy Douglas can see them now!

Frozen Pants

Cameron got home after work and the bottom of his pants were frozen! This brutal winter is hitting us really hard in New England.
