Girls were asking me to take pictures of them eating Indian food and to send them to Sudeshna. Ha!

Play Date - Dairy Queen
Emma and Ana invited friends over after school. I asked all four girls if they wanted to go to the local bakery shop or to Dairy Queen; they chose the latter. Bike, scooter, and skateboards were involved on our journey there. Their reward was chocolate ice cream with sprinkles and jourasic chomp blizzards.
Cooking Indian Food
I met Sudeshna at our local YMCA; we became friends as we worked out together. A few months ago I went to her house and she taught me how to make masala chai. It became our morning winter beverage for months.
Sudeshna graciously agreed to teach me and Rebecca how to make two Indian dishes: chicken biryani, chicken tikka masala and chapati (flat bread). We did some intense cooking from scratch and everything was delicious. The aroma erected by the combination of spices was amazing. We loved every bit of it.

Drywall Delivery
Drywall was delivered today! Our friend Dan came over and helped Cameron carry 48 sheets of drywall up to the attic. They got the job done in about 40 minutes.
One step closer at getting the attic renovation finished.
Sweet Flour Gorditas
I've had a craving for sweet flour gorditas. The recipe came from Lupita, a great lady I love that lives in Mexico. The recipe she gave me doesn't have exact measurements (just like a good 'ol Mexican recipe). The girls helped me make the gorditas. They taste just like I remember them. Ana loves to eat them with a dab of Amish rolled butter. So good!

Graeter's Ice cream - First Day of School Tradition
This is the fourth year that I take the girls to Graeter's Ice cream to celebrate their first day of school. It was fun to hear about their first day experience and new class mates.
First Day of School
Emma and Ana are now in the same school! Emma is going into Thurs grade and Ana is going to first grade. So much fun!

Dolls at Target
After the proceeds from their sale at the farmers market, the girls wanted to go to Target and buy these dolls. Poor things, by the expression on their faces you would think we have deprived them of toys their entire lives. Ha!

Kids Farmers Market - Sew Along
While Cameron and I were in San Antonio, the girls stayed with John & Nancy. The girls sewed bookmarks, mug mats and lavender sachets to sell at the kids farmers market in Oakwood. It was a great experience for the girls. They had to set up their table and make their signs. Emma was good at giving change and writting down the sales. Maybe they will do it again next year.

What's Brewing - Coffee Roasters
Before we left for the San Antonio airport, we stopped by a coffee roaster called What's Brewing. From the outside it looked like a warehouse. As soon as you open the doors an intense (and delicious) coffee smell hits you. The young barista girl was very knowledgeable of the different coffee beans they carry.
We were allowed to go check out their roasting process. We were greeted by the owner and was kind enough to explain us the process and taste some beans. We got to smell and listen to the popping of the coffee beans as they were still tumbling inside the roaster. The beans are roasted at 417°.
Had an amazing experience and left the premises with Ethiopian coffee beans and a shot of delicious espresso.
San Antonio - Last Minute Trip
Cameron had to go back to San Antonio for a business trip. We decided to make it a weekend trip just the two of us before the girls go back to school next week. Last time we were in San Antonio was ten years ago; we stayed at the Drury Inn and since we loved it so much we decided to go back to the same hotel. We even got a complimentary bottle of wine and a bag with goodies!
