Landscaping and Garden

It has been a great experience having our own house.  It is a work-in-progress and it is far from being finished.  This house was empty for three years before we bought it and it needed many upgrades (HVAC, electrical, kitchen, bathroom, windows, appliances, floors, painting, etc.) and it also needed a new landscaping.  This is the perfect house for our family and we hope we can enjoy it for many years to come.

All the old bushes are gone and of course that huge, massive, enormous tree is also gone:

Getting rid of the tree gave us a lot more yard and sun:

On the side of the garage we have a new flower bed with two dwarf fruit trees on each side and climbing rose bushes along the new trellis.

Before: The side of the garage looked tired and abandoned.

Behind the garage was so overgrown and we didn't realize there was so much room.  With the huge tree gone, this area gets lots of sun and it is a perfect spot for our vegetable and herb garden.

I didn't have a good "before" picture of behind the garage.  This one is the best one I could find.  You can see the big bushes behind the garage; the neighbors are glad all those bushes and weeds are gone.  By the way, in this picture Cameron is pointing out all the roots from that huge tree in the backard.

Here's our garden.  Cameron set up a good watering system:

The old sun room is gone and now we enjoy an open porch:
