Sunday Ice Cream

We ate ice cream out in our porch; the weather was perfect.

* They love their dresses from Mexico.

Finger Paint

Ana has taken finger painting to a new level! Yikes!

Annie the Musical

A local high school was presenting Annie the musical. We were there last night but the show was cancelled. The school was hit by lightning Friday night and messed up all their lights. We waited in line for about 45 minutes and the girls were good sports about it.

Today's show was excellent. We know Emily, the girl who played Annie. She is a very talented girl and we really enjoyed the show.

Blue Mondays

Blue Mondays candy bars are a great hit among the girls and Cameron. I believe you can only get those in Kentucky. Jenny, my sister-in-law, brought several back from Kentucky last week and gave them to us. Tonight Cameron finally decided to share the LAST one with the girls.

Guavas

My aunt Martha gave me a huge bag of guavas to bring back home to the girls. Emma loves them. I grew up eating these and I'm glad the girls can eat some at least once every six months (when my parents come to visit).

Sleeping In

Why is it so hard to wake up the girls during the week but they wake up on their own (and early) during the weekend? That's a mystery that I think most parents are wondering (teenagers excluded). I love seeing how peaceful they look when they sleep. Can we please stop time to stare at them a little longer?

Returning the Guinea Pigs

The guinea pigs returned to school yesterday morning. One of them walked straight into the carrier and the other one was quite a challenge. I'm glad we returned two healthy guinea pigs and won't have to worry about them anymore.

Werewolf Costume

Ana worked really hard in making a werewolf costume for a show that her and Emma were going to perform at home. These girls can really keep themselves entertained for hours making crafts (and a mess, ha!).

Guinea Pigs

Emma got to bring home two guinea pigs from school for the weekend. They are fun to watch but very messy.

Having Fun at the Farm House

We helped some friends do some work at their "new" 150+ year old farm house. The girls had fun riding the machinery, raking and playing with all their dogs. Fun times!

It's Sunday!

Home Again

My flight arrived on time and the girls were really happy to see me. They got me flowers and made cute cards. They were excited to see what goodies I brought them from Mexico and couldn't wait until morning. Let's say it was a long day for all of us and are lacking sleep. We'll catch up this weekend.

Trip to Juarez

Unfortunately my grandma was out of town so I didn't get to see her. But I got to meet a second cousin and her family, and saw my aunts & uncles (those who were available).

It was a short but productive trip. I'm glad to be back home.

My Trip to Juarez

I went back to Juarez for a few days by myself. I got to meet my cute niece Monica for the first time. She looks exactly like my brother Jorge.

Ear Infection

As a mother you know when your kid is crying out of pain, tantrum, or to draw attention. Ana was crying in the middle of the night with pain; she had an ear infection that was confirmed by the pediatrician this morning. Pain killers are great to make her comfortable (Ana was all smiles during our visit to the doctor) but I'm glad she got started on antibiotics and probiotics. She's already feeling better after changing back into her pajamas and a nice nap. Nine more days of making her take the medicine. Why doesn't it taste like chocolate? My kids would have no problem taking it!
