Writing her name

Ana was drawing some "people" on a piece of paper and wanted me to see her drawing. I asked her to write her name on it and I offered her some help. She refused my help, saying she knew how to write her name. And she did! It was perfect.

In Her Dress

Our girls have a fascination for dress up. Today we got home from gymnastics and Ana wanted to change her clothes (she was wearing a leotard). I was fixing lunch when Ana came into the kitchen wearing Emma's  dress. The dress is size 3 months. Emma wore that dress at eight weeks (I just confirmed this by looking at an old post from May 2010). How did Ana manage to put it on is beyond my mind. Crazy kid!

Braiding Ana's Hair

The girls were too quiet this morning. I found them like this, Emma braiding Ana's hair. It was really cute.

Sunbathing

Atenas enjoyed sunbathing after the huge rain storm we just had.

Ready for Gymnastics

The girls wanted to wear their Texas's shirts that Ms. Dennis (long time friend of the family) sent them. The shirts say "Somebody in Texas loves me".  They got to do gymnastics in them.

Dress up at the Library

Sweatshirt in the Summer

It is almost 90 degrees and humid and Ana wants to wear a sweatshirt because she's cold. Yeah, I don't get it either.

Portraits for My Aunt in Juarez

My aunt in Juarez requested that I send her a framed picture of the girls (so she can just set it up on her mantle).  I had to dust off my big camera but the results were worth it.

My mom got these Matilda Jane dresses for the girls last year.  They are some of my favorite!

Love Emma's "pose":

My brother Job sent the girls these dresses, they are adorable and they want to wear them every day!

Girls with their Abuelos

My parents came for a visit for two weeks.  I usually wait to tell their girls exactly when their Abuelos are coming because otherwise I would never hear the end of it.  If you have young kids, you know exactly what I'm talking about...the girls would ask every day when their Abuelos were coming.

We had a great visit with them.  My parents made the girls their favorite food, took them to the park, splash pad, ice cream, and of course shopping.  Emma was telling me that she doesn't want her Abuelos to leave.  When I asked her why she said that it is because her Abuela makes her "frijoles charros" (Mexican bean soup) and because she plays with them.  That was too sweet.

Ana keeps saying she wants to go to Mexico.  I'm hoping we can do that later this year or next year.

**As I was getting ready to take these pictures, Ana fell and scraped her knee.  She didn't want to cooperate much, but there are a few shots that came out pretty good. Also, these pictures are unedited. Ha!**
