This morning Emma helped me make our grocery list in Spanish. I kept telling her the words and she slowly figured out the letters/spelling and wrote them down.
She did an amazing job! I was impressed.

Emma and I were invited to Shealyn's birthday party at a tea room. It was so cute and everything was perfect.
The girls got to decorate their own party hat, make their own lip gloss and get their face painted. We enjoyed scones, tea sandwiches, fruit, quiche, cupcakes and of course delicious tea (well, the girls got pink lemonade). The tea room was out of a book. The attention to detail was amazing. We loved it!
Yesterday Emma had her five year old checkup. Everything went well including the three shots she got on her thighs. I had warned her about the shots several days earlier (she cried when she heard the news). I told her she had to be brave but that it was ok to cry. She did great! I distracted her by showing her pictures of when she was two months old and had just gotten shots. Emma didn't cry and was very brave.
As the nurse was leaving, Ana told her that she wanted to get shots. She doesn't know what she's talking about! We'll be back in a couple of weeks for Ana's three year old checkup but no shots are involved.
As a reward for Emna being brave, the girls got doughnuts.
We've been celebrating Emma's birthday for several days but today is her official birthday! We went out for lunch and had ice cream afterwards. Can't believe she's FIVE!
Emma helped me make cookies to share with her classmates as they celebrate her birthday in school. I tried a new recipe that doesn't require chilling the dough. They came out really good! Since we are still doing the Frozen theme, we made snowflake cookies. Emma did a great job cutting them out. She wanted to help decorating them but royal icing can be a little tricky for small hands.
I hope the kids enjoy eating them as much as we enjoyed making them.
Emma is a quick learner. She got a weaving loom for her birthday and already finished a pit holder for her Mei Mei. Good job Emma!
