"You little stink pot!" Those were the words of Grampa Douglas when he first saw Emma walking. All this time she could walk, she just needed more confidence. She started walking last Sunday; our "peaceful" days are over!

Memorial Day Weekend
We had a lot of fun during our Memorial Day weekend. We spent time as a family, grilled, visited a state park and witnessed sailing races, and just relaxed.
Here are some pictures that I took in front of John & Nancy's house. Cameron was preassure washing the siding while I looked after Emma. It was hard to get her to smile because she was easily distracted by Daddy and Atenas.
Here's Emma eating grass!
She's really consentrating on the "grassy" flavor:

Breakfast at Craker Barrel
Yesterday we joined some friends at Craker Barrel for breakfast. Our friends have a cute 6 month old boy; Gabriel was all smiles and giggles and Emma was entertained by him. We had a great time and enjoyed really good country style breakfast.
We sat Emma in one of the rocking chairs outside the restaurant and she was NOT happy. I guess she didn't enjoy the rocking/movement of the chair.

Dirty Hands
One of the ways to entertain Emma during the day is to take her outside. She really enjoys the warm weather, walking in the yard, chasing Atenas and playing with sticks, dirt, mulch, etc. Yesterday we went outside and Emma was playing with Gramm's flowers; she knows she's not allowed to play with the flowers so she ended up playing with the dirt.
*By the way Emma is wearing another cute summer outfit courtesy of her auntie Jenny.
Emma likes getting her hands dirty; I had a hard time removing the dirt from under her tiny fingernails.Thursday, May 12, 2011

Hot weather is FINALLY here and Emma is able to wear all of her cute summer clothes that Auntie Jenny gave her.

Keeping Up with Emma
If you are a mom, you know how much fun and exhausting it can be to run behind your one-year-old and try to keep up with them. That's what we've been up to these days...I can't imagine how it is going to be when Emma starts walking! I'll just enjoy one day at a time.
Here's Cameron letting go of Emma:

Kentucky Derby
Last Saturday Emma and I experienced our first Kentucky Derby party. The Douglas family has been betting among each other for years. We each pick out the horses' name from a bowl and someone collects all the money.
Watching the fastest two minutes in sports was very exciting!

Holding Tight
Emma is too careful to let go and start walking; she likes holding tight to Daddy instead.
