Murder Mystery Dinner

Cameron booked one more thing to celebrate my birthday: a murder mystery dinner. It was held in Covington, KY at a hotel overlooking Cincinnati and the Ohio River. We were joined by three other couples (friends of ours) and we had a great time.

At the end we did figure out who the murderer was. I even told the lady she was my prime suspect. Ha!

Dinner at Sueño

We have been twice to the Mexican restaurant downtown Dayton and both times we have been very pleased. My mother-in-law says im a snob when it comes to Mexican food and I agree. That’s why we don’t really eat out at Mexican restaurants.

Last night we went out with our friends Dan and Allison. All the kids were with their grandparents and we had such a fun time.

At  Sueño we ordered Sikil P’ak, sopes, tacos de cochinita and lamb birria. I was hesitant in ordering the birria because I didn’t want to be disappointed. I wasn’t! It was excellent.

Birthday Party

We were joined by friends and family to keep celebrating my birthday. A birthday celebration couldn’t have been complete without a piñatas and excellent food: birria, tongue tacos, charcuterie board and lots of yummy sides. We had two piñatas: one for the kids and one for the adults.

Birthday Celebration #40

What a gift it is to celebrate my fortieth birthday with friends and family.

Allison treated me to lunch and a day full of shopping. Thank you Dan for watching all four kids while Cameron was in Mexico and us ladies enjoying our quiet girly time.

My second birthday lunch was with Mei Mei, aunt Jan and the girls at the Golden Lamb in Lebanon.

Christmas Eve

I’m so thankful my parents and Job arrived safely to Ohio after thirty hours of constant driving. There were so many people praying for their safe journey and the Lord brought them safely here.  They arrived at 5AM Christmas Eve and we told everyone to arrive at 1 PM for our Christmas Eve dinner.

For dinner we had brisket, ham, Brussel sprouts, Mac & cheese, and roasted sweet and regular potatoes, and “Sharon” rolls.

Our highlight of the get together was seeing Aurora. She’s adorable, sweet and funny. We had a wonderful time!

Everyone had to leave early due to bad road and weather conditions. It was perfect timing as we had to get ready to go to church for the Christmas Eve service where both girls sang.

Reindeer Cupcakes

Ana has a gymnastics meet tomorrow and we signed up to make cupcakes for the concession stand. This meet’s theme is Reindeer so I looked up some cute ideas to decorate the cupcakes. I found reindeer cookies and just copied the cute and easy design: pretzels, rye candy, mini vanilla wafers and red M&Ms. Emma and Ana did a great job decorating them.
